How To Develop A “Do Whatever It Takes” Mindset
If we want to have a good chance of achieving success, there is one thing we can do that will help us get to our destination. That is to develop a “do whatever it takes mindset”.
Having a “do whatever it takes” mindset is simply not settling for mediocrity. It is when a person knows what he or she have to do and does it with conviction. It may sound simple, but not everyone has that guts. Not everyone has this kind of attitude.
If you are one of the many people who doesn’t have this mindset. Here are some tips on how to develop a “do whatever it takes” mindset.
When You Want It, Own It
“If it is to be then it is up to me.”
This cliché saying has a bigger impact on our lives. When we want something in life, we have to own it. If you want to get that job promotion, say it with conviction, “I will get that job promotion because it is for me.” Before anything else, we need to be committed. It is all about developing an attitude, a passion and a desire to win.
We cannot win the race if we are half-hearted. As much as we want to be successful–a balloon will not fly in the sky when there is no air inside–similarly, a person will never be successful if it is not really what he or she wants inside.
If You Are Afraid Of Taking Risks, Challenge Yourself
The risk we took and the things we did before have great contributions to where we are now. But why do some people hesitate on doing things which can help them in fulfilling their dreams? Perhaps, it is because they don’t believe in their capabilities. Most of us are afraid of taking a risk because we lack confidence in our skills. But if we really want to achieve our dreams we should learn to overcome the fear and learn to take risks.
It is all about educating ourselves. If you want to quit your regular job and be a freelance marketer, learn how to be one. If you want to take the risk of dropping out of college and pursue something else, know your options. Before jumping into the water, know the odds and be prepared for anything. Most importantly, learn how to believe in yourself. Have faith in yourself and believe that you can do it.
Like what English author, A.A Milne once said, “you’re braver than you believe and stronger than you seem and smarter than you think”.
When You Hit Rock Bottom, Use The Rocks To Thrive
When taking a risk, we should also know that there is no assurance that we will succeed. There are times when we fail and hit rock bottom. But you know what they say; when we are at our lowest, there is no other way but up.
