Create More Content: Connection is Currency!
In any business, connection is currency. In today’s world, the best way to create a connection is through content.
There’s one thing you must do before you even begin creating content, and that is to identify whether you’re a thinker or an action-taker.
It’s so important to identify which category you fall into, naturally, because often, thinkers get stuck thinking about something—and never actually doing it—while their action-oriented competitors just get out there and do it.
Those people who are out there doing it, even if they’re doing it imperfectly, are the ones who are connecting with their audiences, and ultimately, building their businesses.
So at HeartCore Business, we can’t emphasize enough the importance of “just doing it” when it comes to content creation.
(And if you’re a thinker, that’s okay—if you recognize it, you can begin to work toward becoming an action-taker in terms of sharing content.)
Nobody’s going to come busting down your door to hire you. You have to get out of your own way and create content so you can serve more people.
Here are some of our favorite emotional and practical tips for creating more content…
Emotional Tips
Tip 1. Let go of perfection—and just do it.
Of course we all want our videos to have perfect lighting and backgrounds. We all want our blog posts to be perfect, grammatically. And we all want to look great in photos we share.
But the truth is, if you’re waiting for perfection, you’re going to be waiting a long time! Life happens. There will be days when you don’t feel like you look your best, or the cloud cover is just ruining the lighting for your videos.
But the most important thing you can do to connect with people, and therefore grow your business and change the world, is to get your content out there—no matter what.
Who knows what difference your tip will make for someone who hears it today—despite the bad lighting in your video, or that new wrinkle between your eyebrows?
Tip 2. Get out of your own way: trust yourself.
If you’re not creating content, then you’re actually standing in your own way as you strive to build your business and your income. If you don’t go out there and connect with people, there won’t be any currency.
This tip is intertwined with the previous one (you must let go of perfectionism in order to get out of your own way and just do it!).
But we’ve made it a standalone tip because getting out of your own way is more than letting go of perfectionism. It’s also about just being real, sharing who you are and what you’re doing, and how you can help people.
The more real and authentic you are, the more likely you’ll be to attract your ideal clients.
It’s all about trusting yourself!
Side note: this may mean repelling some people, too. Not everyone is going to love you! And that’s okay. You’re not meant to help everyone. The people you are meant to help will be attracted to the authentic you.
